We believe that we are made by God and for God. In every person there exists a longing for the divine that can only be filled by a real relationship with God. Life, at its best, is experienced when we align ourselves under God’s authority. Only then can we experience the greatest joys and the most abundant life imaginable.
One True God
At Mount Olive Church of Christ we believe that there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons. The Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit—each of Whom possesses equally all the attributes of God and the characteristics of personality. In the beginning God created out of nothing the world and all the things therein, thus manifesting the glory of His power, wisdom, and goodness. By His sovereign power, God continues to sustain His creation. By His providence, He is operating throughout history to fulfill His redemptive purposes.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God reveals Himself to us generally through nature and specifically through His Son and the Word of God, the Bible. We exist to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Because of the finished work of Jesus, we can know God as our holy and loving Father.
Jesus Christ is the eternal second Person of the Trinity who was united forever with a true human nature by miraculous conception and virgin birth. He lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father and voluntarily atoned for the sins of all by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which he lived and died. He ascended into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of the Father, where He, the only Mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. He shall come again to earth, personally and visibly, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God, the Father
More About Our Beliefs
The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament. We believe that the Scriptures in its entirety originated with God and that it was given through the instrumentality of chosen men.
